Crane Operator Classes Hamilton - Crane operator training is for supervisors and operators of overhead lifting equipment. The course is suitable for both current and new operators. Course content addresses relevant provincial, state and federal safety regulations. The training's first component consists of complete in-class instruction and test. After that is a customized hands-on session with practical lessons and evaluation.
The content of the course applies to all categories and types of overhead lifting crane equipment. The instruction would specifically focus on all aspects of crane operation that can be performed at the workplace of the trainee. Upon finishing the course, trainees will learn how to operate specific overhead lifting devices, attachments and related components safely and efficiently.
The operator course's goal is to first identify and potentially dangerous operator habits that might develop while a person operates an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products can be prevented with right practices. Training reduces the chance of a workplace incident or injury happening.
The course would encompass about eight hours of classroom instruction with a couple of hours of customized, on-site, hands-on training. Participants are graded on their understanding of training material through an evaluation of their practical knowledge and written tests. The minimum acceptable score is eighty percent.
The in-class session, the trainee would learn regarding guidelines and legislation, causes of damages and occurrences, danger awareness, internal responsibility, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, design principles and basic equipment, pre-shift equipment inspections, safe hoisting/operating techniques, kinds of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, operator/pedestrian safety, hitches and angles, hand signals for slingers and operators, flipping/turning loads safely.
The practical training and evaluation part of the course should be pre-scheduled. This customized portion of the training will be held at the trainees' facility. The duration of this practical training component is an hour or two. Two operators at a time will be trained by the instructor about skills such as right rigging practices, safe operation and planning the lift.
Upon finishing the in-class instruction and the practical operating instruction and evaluation, the trainee will write a test. Signed safety rules will be required from each participant. Trainees who are successful would be provided with individual wallet certificates. A framed wall certificate will be provided to the company.
